Nothing can stop a foodie

No electricity? No running water? No hot pads? No tongs?  No sink?  No refrigerator?       No oven?

No problem.

Because to a foodie, even being in the middle of the woods can’t stop you!

“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”                                 -Virginia Woolf

And “dining well” to my 6 year old equates to s’mores:

Now this wasn’t just about bacon and marshmallows.

We ate organic barbecue chicken cooked over a fire pit with tri-colored bell peppers alongside quinoa with black beans and corn.  We dined on citrus marinated pork chops with pineapple salsa.  And cooked an apple cobbler in a cast iron dutch oven.

And warm, hearty breakfasts…

…for 5 mile hikes.

(oh. and wonderfully burned marshmallows.)

Who says camping has to be about nitrate filled hot dogs and pink slime hamburgers?

To good friends, good scenery, and good food…no matter where you are!
