Trick or Treat!

One of my readers was wondering what i’m giving out this year for trick or treat…

…milk chocolate bars, whole-peanut bars, and whole-grain popcorn balls.  What’s going to be in your trick or treat bowl this year?

Although this is the holiday that requires a FREE SUGAR PASS,

i’ll take this opportunity to let you know that Tootsie rolls are among the lowest sugar candies.  I think M&Ms, Peanut M&M’s, Kit Kat’s, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Snickers are some decent choices…some of them contain the good kind of fat in the nuts which help slow the entry of sugar into your bloodstream.  Gotta love the Blow Pop Suckers too, just because!  It’s the candy with the strange textures or colors that scare me, like the bouncy, stretchy eye balls with blue veins.  Or where you just pour sugar into your mouth. Or how about the one where you wet a sugar stick with your mouth and then use it to pick up more sugar? Omg.  I’ll stop here.

Have a Happy Halloween! 9 days to go!  Woo Hoo!  Be safe! Remind your kids to look before crossing the street! 🙂  And stay with the group!
