Brownies- can you guess the secret ingredient?

Not what you think. That might have been college.

The next time you bake brownies, use a healthier mix or better yet make them from scratch.  But either way, choose a healthier flour, substitute other sweeteners, add ground walnuts, ground flaxseed, and…black beans??

Yes!  A rinsed can of black beans!  You don’t have to lie to your kids.  Just call them “healthy brownies.” (I think it”s important to point out the difference to your kids between brownies vs. healthy brownies.) Although my daughters still like them warm from the oven, I think b/c of the secret ingredient they taste better cold from the fridge.  I promise they won’t know the difference, and neither will you.

I have heard about this.. have you made these?

    • I make everything before i post it. I like them best once they have cooled in the fridge- then i can’t even tell. And i don’t feel guilty having them with coffee for breakfast 😉
